Previous Challenges
Previously, our app lacked the functionality for users to favorite instructors or easily access their profiles from the home screen. This made it difficult for users to reconnect with their favorite instructors and limited their engagement with the content they value.
The Solution: Favorite Instructors
Our new feature resolves these issues by enabling you to mark instructors as favorites and access them through a dedicated module on the home screen. Here’s a detailed overview of what this feature offers:
Home Screen Integration:
- A new section labeled "Favorite Instructors" is added to the app’s home navigation.
- This section displays your favorite instructors with their picture and first name plus last name initial, organized alphabetically.
- A carousel allows you to swipe left to view more instructors.
Instructors Page:
- Clicking "See more" on the home screen module directs you to the Instructors page.
- This page includes a header labeled "Instructors," a search icon, and two sections: "Favorites" and "All Instructors."
- Favorite instructors are listed alphabetically with their picture and full name. Clicking on an instructor’s picture or name navigates to their profile and displays the classes and workouts available for the selected instructor.
- A star icon next to each instructor allows you to easily favorite or unfavorite them. Favoriting an instructor saves them at the corporate level, ensuring they remain a favorite across all locations.
Search Functionality:
- If more than 10 instructors are listed, a magnifying glass icon appears, enabling you to search by instructor name.
- The search bar employs an auto-suggestion mechanism to suggest names after typing in three characters, facilitating a quicker search process.
